Add a Server Postback to Digital Turbine

For ad networks and publishing partners that are integrated (Integrations menu under the Publishers tab), you can select predefined postback “templates” that generate the correct server postback URL and conversion data for their systems. If they require any additional information such as the app ID or advertiser ID they generated for you, empty fields will appear for correctly inputting that information, and it will be automatically appended to the postback template. This saves you the steps of collecting the postback URL yourself, appending the correct conversion data, and determining any additional fields each ad network may require.

These templates for Server Postbacks make the process to enable them extremely easy for your without requiring any of your engineers. With the integration, we can setup Server Postback templates for:

  • Registration
  • Purchase
  • Other event

Usually an integrated publishing partner will have a template set up for install. The other templates are optional. If the template dropdown menu is not available, then the server postback template is only setup for install.

To set up a server postback for an integrated ad network/publisher, go to the Publishers tab and click Server Postbacks. There is a list of your server postbacks, if any, and a button to add new ones.  To add a new one, click on the Add Server Postback button.

Once on the Add Server Postback page, click the checkbox for “Use Postback Template for an Integration” and an additional window will appear with the predefined template.

First you need to select the integrated ad network or publisher you want to create a server postback for. Once you select an Integration, then select the Platform (Android or iOS) and the mobile app. Depending on the integration, some of the integrations can be set up on a global basis (designated with "All"), while others have to be set up on a specific mobile app basis.

Once you make those four selections (Integration, Platform, Mobile App, Template), the template URL will be displayed. You can adjust this URL in the URL box as necessary. If there are any additional hard-coded parameters to be passed, you will need to specify them in the input box.

The template URL along with any template parameters will be used to build the actual server postback URL in the URL field following. This URL is what will actually be saved as the Server Postback URL.

Based on the template you have selected, you will need to select the Event the server postback will be for. When our platform tracks the event, then we will notify the server postback URL.

Once the server postback is launched it will be active in 10 minutes or less.

Below is an example of an integration that has all four templates set up.
